Our Story
We started as TaxWise Service in 2017. Our first office was in a co-working space in Coquitlam. We were lucky to meet many entrepreneurs there. By living among them and listening to their stories and visions, we have learned how to provide the accounting services that suit small businesses’ needs.
After the co-working space was shut down during the COVID-19 pandemic. We moved to Port Moody in 2020. Even during the pandemic, our business keeps growing due to the referrals from our existing clients.
In 2023, we established a sister company, eComGuru Accounting Services Inc., to serve the eCommerce industry. In 2024, we changed our name to TaxWise Accounting and merged with eComGuru Accounting. Today we continue to be a leading small business accountant in Port Moody, helping our clients grow and thrive.

Principal & Founder
Tim Shiu
Before starting TaxWise Service, Tim had worked for the largest firm in tax industry for 7 years, right after he had graduated from B.C.I.T. Accounting Diploma Program, with distinction. He has filed thousands of tax returns and helped hundreds of clients with tax reviews and tax appeals after tax season.
During the years Tim worked as a senior tax professional, he realized that many small business owners need more accounting services than meeting only once a year to file an income tax return. What they need is a small business accountant who can assist clients on a year-round basis. Therefore, he decided to start his own accounting firm to better serve the needs of small businesses.
Our Expertise
Cloud-based accounting platforms provides great flexibilities and is generally considered as the best solution for small businesses. TaxWise Service is a QuickBooks Online Advanced ProAdvisor and a XERO advisor, providing bookkeeping service online over the cloud. In addition, we are a registered EFILE service provider, which means we usually deal with CRA via their online portals, instead of waiting forever for a CRA agent to pick up the phone. Whatever we do, we aim for customer satisfaction and long term business relationship.
